Should we care for our pet opossum in the same way like other people care for their different pets? The answer is ‘yes’ however it needs your extra love and proper training in comparison to any other animal and you can easily get an extraordinary pet with good qualities.
The main point to note that opossum is an arboreal and communal creature. They take birth in a crowd and they are very similar to small rats. They are clever like small rats. After their birth, first of all they find out the way of climbing in any place. They love to stay with their owner and they usually jump near to the pockets.
It is very similar to any other animal that they require proper food to eat. The water is also required on time. The main thing which you need to take care of that it is the habit of opossum to eat anything. Make sure that they should not eat those things which can be harmful for them. Moreover they should not destroy your needy things. It requires some training from your end that opossum should eat only from the bawl which you have given. You also have to give them training for the toilet so that they should not make all the places dirty. It requires bathing once in a week else it can be very smelly. Start giving bath at the time of young age. You can put it in a tub of little warm water and you can also use soft shampoo.
It is not difficult to do the resting arrangement of opossum. They love to sleep during the daytime. The health is not an issue with them. Your proper care can handle it properly. However do not take time to consult the vet practitioner if there is some matter.
